Shirley Heights in Antigua is one of the more popular tourist attractions on the island because of its stunning views of English Harbour and the surrounding area.
This former British military installation served as a lookout for the southern tip of the island that housed English Harbour, one of the largest British naval installations during the colonial era.
Today Shirley Heights is not just a place to go for great views and a tour of the former military buildings there.
It also is the site every Sunday of a public barbecue party featuring the AMP Halcyon Steel Orchestra starting at 4 p.m.
Music include reggae, soca and calypso with additional bands that play for 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
A quieter Thursday barbecue starts at 4 p.m.
